Kentucky Mother Arrested After Children Found Dead Makes Bizarre Claims About Wi-Fi and Facebook Manipulation

Kentucky — A mother from Bullitt County, Kentucky, is facing serious criminal charges after her two young children were found dead inside her home on November 8. Authorities say Tiffanie Ann Katherine Lucas, 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder after deputies discovered the lifeless bodies of her sons, ages 6 and 9, in a bedroom of her residence. In the aftermath of the shocking discovery, Lucas has made several disturbing and bizarre statements, including a claim that she was being “manipulated” through her Wi-Fi and Facebook.
According to the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call from a neighbor reporting that two children had been shot. When deputies arrived at the home in Shepherdsville, they found both boys unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but both children were pronounced dead at the scene.
Lucas, who appeared disoriented and emotionally detached when deputies questioned her, was immediately taken into custody. A preliminary investigation revealed that no one else was in the house at the time of the shootings, and no signs of forced entry were found. A handgun, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered at the scene.
Since her arrest, Lucas has been held at the Bullitt County Detention Center. During her first court appearance, she made several strange and unsettling statements. According to court documents, she claimed that outside forces had “infiltrated” her life through Wi-Fi signals and Facebook, alleging that she was being controlled or manipulated through digital platforms.
“I was being manipulated through the internet… through my Wi-Fi,” she reportedly told investigators. “They were watching me… they were in my mind, controlling me.”
Mental health experts and legal analysts say her claims raise serious concerns about her psychological state. While it is too early to determine whether she will pursue an insanity defense, her behavior has prompted calls for a full psychiatric evaluation.
“This case is deeply troubling,” said Dr. Eliza Harland, a clinical psychologist not affiliated with the case. “When someone makes claims of technological manipulation or delusional control, it often suggests a break from reality, possibly linked to a psychotic episode or severe mental illness.”
Family members and neighbors described Lucas as quiet but loving toward her children. However, some noted that she had recently become withdrawn and displayed erratic behavior.
“There were signs that something wasn’t right,” said a neighbor who asked not to be named. “She talked about strange things—like people watching her or hearing voices. I wish someone had stepped in sooner.”
Authorities have not yet revealed a motive, and the investigation is ongoing. The Kentucky State Police and Child Protective Services are assisting with the case, reviewing past incidents and any history of mental illness or abuse within the home.
The tragedy has left the local community in shock and mourning. A candlelight vigil was held in honor of the two boys, with friends, teachers, and community members gathering to pay their respects.
“These kids were beautiful souls,” said one of their teachers. “They were full of life, always smiling. This is just heartbreaking.”
Tiffanie Lucas is being held without bond, and her next court hearing is scheduled for later this month. If convicted, she could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
As investigators work to uncover the full story behind this horrific act, the community continues to ask one haunting question: how could a mother take the lives of her own children—and why?
